Do, or Done?

Seeing the culture in the 2018, “Cinema Rehiyon” gave me an idea on how the different region works as one. The film that attracts me the most is “The Chanters” directed by James Mayo. A story of an old man and his grand daughter who live in the province. A cultured man, who’s the oldest song writer of the modern generation, lives with his millennial grand daughter. Sarah, a simple student is so addicted to Danica Reyes, an actress. She tried hard to see her idol. Sarah is one of the back up dancer in the program that school making to welcome Danica Reyes. His grand father is a music teacher in their community. He teaches the youth in their barangay. After a day, Sarah smell something, like burning. When she reach the kitchen, she saw the fish in the frying pan, and it’s burnt. Sarah didn’t getting the dance step yet so the group decided to replace Sarah.When Sarah went home, she saw a smoke from their kitchen, and she notice her grand father is missing. After an hour of searching, she saw him sleeping in the chair of a nipa house. With that case, she decided to take her grand father in their school so that she can observed him. But unfortunately, when the day came for her to meet her idol, her grand father get lost. After she found him, the motorcycle left them and they need to seek for another vehicle. After an hour, they hop by in the pick- up car and drop off in the near by sari-sari store. She tied him in the wooden chair and brought him a chocolate drink and left him for a while and went to her school quickly. Sadly she didn’t make it, the programe is done and her idol gone. By that time, she realize what is important, her responsibility to her grand father is the challenging role for her as a young girl and she notice she can’t done the same thing. In the end of the story, her grand father is given an award

All the pressure from behind

A guy with a tragic past, leads a community with anger and hate. Pink Floyd, a rock band, composed a song about an issue they are fighting for. Thinking about his past life, pink, a depressed guy, is taking a meditation to survive from his mental illness. But unfortunately, he still remember his tragic past, that’s why his illness became deeper. Until the time he leads a community with the symbolism of a two black and red hammers that crossed together. With a wild members, they raised a wild community.

Red for Nothing

In the movie “Raise the Red Lantern”, you can see that a power of woman, is strong. Songlian, is a young woman who married Master Chen, a wealthy man in China. She became the fourth wife of the Master. At first she was treaten as a royal and had a foot massage.

She discovered that the third mistress, Meishan is having a secret affair with Dr. Gao, a family physician.

Then her maid Yan’er also has a secret affair to the Master which is against their rules.

The jolly mistress, Zhuoyun is the one who can’t be trusted.

See how girls can lie. Red means secret i think. Those secret can reveal whether you say it or not.

The Greatest Game He Ever Played

Jamal Malik is an Indian player of “Who Wants To be a Millionaire” Indian version. Knowing that his educational background is just a little, he entered the game show and answer all the questions correctly with the help of his experience from the past. Since his mind impossibly answered all the questions, the police tortured him because of his impossible act.  Together with Latika, a girl he met from the past, and his brother Salim, they succeed to reach the last cast.

Who said money can’t buy happines? the happiness for love and forgiveness can never buy, by the money. Even though you have lots and lots of money, you can’t be happy without love. And who says you can’t succeed without education? if you are wise you can. If you can.

 

 

Deadly Job

Now that you’re profession is got, how do you survive?  Applying new job make you feel challenging, to face the new chapter of life. Okurubito or Departure in English language, is a movie that conceptualize, how can you be comfortable in the uncomfortable job. Experiencing vomiting and smelly body make Kobayashi feels that way. Cleansing death body is his new job after being disbanned in the orchestra which he was dreaming to work with. What makes him special because he is so peaceful. Even though he is so uncomfortable. Being with his wife make him feel he is safe and secured

It this Maze, How do you Survive?

Life is like a maze, full of struggles and full of faith. The question is, which way you should go? Left or right? Up or Down? No matter how far it is, are you ready to take the risk? Despite of choosing your own way, how do you survive? How many percent do you think you can see the way despite of so many roads you can take? In the movie “Journey to the fall” you can see how people is escaping in the arms of americans and how they’re surviving in this era.

A lovable mother, and rebelious father take the risk to full-fill their thirst from freedom. Long, the father became prisoner of the Americans. Before anything else, Mai, the mother planned to escape together with her mother-in-law and her son Lai. By the use of boat, they hide inside the dark and hidden room of the boat. I wonder hoe they can escape with that situation. While Long was in prison, the American government treated him and his co-prisoners as badly as they are. Imagine how can you escape, in the maze that full of pain? Maybe you can but the memories brought by the maze, does it’s still in plain?

A new representation of love?

​I have question, “do sex represent love?” “Why do you say so?” i know i never felt like im inlove with someone else, but the concept of pre-marital sex makes me think “why do couples have sex without married?” Is this the  new symbolism of love? I’d keep on questioning, “the concept of sex makes the couples strong or comfortable with each others?” I don’t think so. Maybe to the married couples. Did sex can find love? Or can the couple be strong if they have sex? I don’t know, maybe you can judge but for me, sex can never be an outcomes of love. We are only human and we make a mistake. Sex is a sin, a never ending sin. This cannot help you to find love. This is not a representation of love. This is not by attraction, it’s your choice. 

Shoes Can Walk

​Have you ever been think even your own shoes can walk and brings you an epic adventure. The film “Children of heaven” will help you to travel somewhere trust me, you can’t go home without values. Also makes you realize, it is ok to lost something. Ali lose his sisters shoes, by that they experienced struggles and troubles. That’s why i titled this blog “Shoes can walk” . By the way after school, they are exchanging their foot wear. Ali’s shoe was drowned into canal, then he experienced to be late until the principal talk to him, and they are running using the same shoes. But what makes it memorable, from this movie you will see the love of older brother to his sister, even though Ali was 3x late, he sacrifice his shoes. Just ine pair of shoes can be memorable. 

Bloody Christmas

Christmas Season is the most happiest season of all time for me. Exchanging gift, mouth watering dish, and Season of love. But sometimes, you need to sacrifice the Christmas despite of your work. What if you are a soldier? Imagine you don’t know if you will still in this world in Christmas day and Eve. Your life is 50/50. You don’t know how long will you survive  and if you have a chance to come back to your family. In the movie “Joyeux Noel” I felt the sadness and also the happiness. Sadness because there is still a war. Happiness because even there’s still a war, the two company (French and Germany), still celebrated Christmas together with there team mate. While watching this movie, the filipino culture flash back on me. Either there’s a flood, an earthquake or any interruption, no one can stop filipino’s to be happy. The greatest gift you can have is life and family.
